Animal welfare in Islam

Even if some will say that the process used in Islam is disrespectful of the animal, this process of killing is nevertheless the most respectful. Allah SWT created these animals and he ordered them to be killed in a specific way, because it is he who created them and who knows, while we do not know.

Apart from this essential spiritual aspect, there is the scientific aspect that proves the interest of this ordered reason. Slitting the throat of an animal cuts the jugulars, which are the important veins in the neck and thus leads to rapid death. As a result, once sliced, the conscious mind is instantly dead and the body follows within seconds. The animal does not feel any pain. The Prophet saws told his companions the story of a man who was thirsty. On his way he found a well, so he came down to quench his thirst. On his way back up, he saw a dog that was so thirsty it was licking the mud off the ground. So he came back down, he filled his shoe with water and made it available to the dog. God appreciated this good deed and he forgave him his sins. The companions then asked him: "O Prophet of God: are we rewarded for our good deeds towards animals?" He replied: "For every living creature, there is a reward that does well to him"

The Sacrifice of Poultry

Before any sacrifice, we check that the chicken and mouton and beef are alive and conscious. Thus, we do not accept any stunning in ritual slaughter, whether by electronarcosis or electroshock.

The animal is sacrificed in a suspended position. The priest formulates the intention to make the sacrifice and pronounces the BASMALA. Then he manually cuts the necks of the poultry.

On leaving the slaughter point, we make sure that the animal is completely dead before it passes through the next procesa until pakeging. We also inspect the neck of each bird to ensure that the slaughter conforms to the Muslim rite. For any non-compliant sacrifice, the carcass and by-products are excluded from the certification process.
